GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)

The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is an EU law which came into effect May 25th 2018. It replaces the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC and was established to further protect EU citizens’ rights and freedoms as data subjects.

We at Alfa have many years of experience in handling personal data with information security and data protection in mind. It is important for us that you are aware of, and trust the way in which we use and handle it. We want to stress that we have never, and never will be interested in using your personal data for other purposes than managing your assignments in the most effective and efficient way.

This notice explains our practices with regard to your personal integrity.

What is personal information

Personal information is any data that can identify a person when used alone or in combination with other data. For example, it can be your name and address, or social security number.

Handling of your personal data

We will process your personal data to carry out assignments, and may provide it to third parties, but only when it is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations for our customers. That is, for the purpose of providing you with our services as agreed, and/or when it is legally required. Moreover, Alfa is certified against ISO/IEC 27001 – the international standard for information security management by an accredited certification body. You can read more about it here.

Your rights

We typically process your personal data based on your consent and contractual obligations vis-a-vis your organization encompassing a Data Protection Agreement. We support your rights and freedoms as a data subject ensuring that you can excise your right to eg: have the right to know if we are processing, storing, and/or disseminating your personal data, where, and why, and to have your personal data erased from our records, and/or cease any further dissemination. This does, however, not apply if we are required by law to for example store your personal data.
